Nitrogen Generator FAQs

The minimum purity of nitrogen that can be provided by an onsite nitrogen generator depends on the type of generator being used and the user’s requirements. For example, ECS Membrane nitrogen gas generators can produce purities up to 99.95%.
The amount of gas flow produced by a nitrogen generator varies depending on the type of generator and user requirements. Generally speaking, nitrogen generators should be capable of providing at least 0.5-1 SCFH (Standard Cubic Feet per Hour) of gas flow. You can adjust this depending on the generator and user requirements.
Onsite nitrogen generators typically use membrane technology to achieve their desired outcome. A nitrogen membrane separator contains thousands of hollow fibers constructed of a porous membrane material. The compressed air that is 78% nitrogen, 21% oxygen and other trace gases is then passed through these hollow fibers, allowing the nitrogen molecules to pass through and be collected for storage, while the oxygen and other trace gases are rejected and released into the atmosphere.
The main benefit of using an onsite nitrogen generator is that it allows users to generate their own nitrogen gas onsite, rather than having to purchase it in large quantities from an external supplier. This offers cost savings and greater control over the purity of the nitrogen gas produced. Additionally, using an onsite nitrogen generator eliminates the need for long supply chains, which can reduce transportation costs and decrease the environmental impact associated with shipping large volumes of gas.
