ADVICE

ALS Industrial Services Ltd maintain, service and repair Parker Hyperchill process water chillers across the full ICEP and ICES range. Established from Parker Hannifin's Service Centre network in 2016, our engineers have factory-level training on the Hyperchill range, from the compact ICEP series upwards through to the larger ICES-E units used in high-demand industrial applications. We also service process water chillers from other manufacturers.

Process water chillers are used wherever a process requires a controlled, stable coolant temperature. Typical applications include laser cutting and welding equipment, injection moulding, food and drink processing, pharmaceutical manufacturing, packaging machinery, biogas and biomethane processing plant, water-jet cutting and general industrial cooling.

Parker Hyperchill Plus ICEP range - compact process water chillers in four sizes

Parker Hyperchill specialists

The Parker Hyperchill ICEP range covers cooling capacities from 1.7 kW to 120 kW, using hermetic piston or scroll compressors and a non-ferrous hydraulic circuit suitable for water and water-glycol mixtures. The larger ICES-E series extends this to 586 kW, running on R1234ze low-GWP refrigerant in compliance with ErP Ecodesign Regulation 2016/2281. Our engineers are trained across the full range and carry parts knowledge that comes directly from our Parker heritage.

Common faults we diagnose and resolve:

Area Typical faults
Refrigerant circuit Low charge, leaks, failed expansion valve, condenser blockage
Compressor Hermetic piston or scroll compressor wear, electrical winding failure
Water circuit Pump wear, blocked strainer, failed flow switch, evaporator scaling from hard water
Controls Temperature sensor drift, controller board faults, alarm inhibition
Water quality Glycol concentration drift, inhibitor depletion, biological contamination

Our engineers hold F-gas qualifications for the handling of refrigerants used in process water chillers. Read our guide to F-gas requirements for air dryers and chillers.

Why chiller maintenance matters

A Hyperchill chiller operating with a partial refrigerant charge or a fouled condenser will not reach set-point temperature under load. In a production environment this can stop a laser cutter, cause injection mould tool overheating or trigger a process shutdown. Scaling on the evaporator from hard or untreated water reduces heat transfer efficiency and, left unaddressed, can cause irreparable damage to the plate heat exchanger.

Regular servicing catches these issues before they become failures. Our maintenance visits cover:

  • Refrigerant charge and leak check (F-gas logged)
  • Condenser cleaning
  • Evaporator inspection
  • Water quality analysis: pH, inhibitor levels, glycol concentration where applicable
  • Pump and flow verification
  • Temperature differential measurement
  • Electrical and control system checks
  • Written service record issued on completion

Customers on a service contract also benefit from priority cover for breakdowns.
